Treasure Coast

Rise Above Plastics: Rise Above Plastics is designed to eliminate the impacts of plastics in the marine environment by raising awareness about the dangers of plastic pollution and by advocating for a reduction of single-use plastics and the recycling of all plastics.

Hold On To Your Butt: Cigarette butts are one of the top pieces of plastic pollution found on our beaches. The program works with communities to educate the public on the impact of cigarette litter, offer cigarette butt receptacles, and remove cigarettes from the beach.

Blue Water Task Force: Surfrider Foundation’s volunteer water quality monitoring program. Our chapter members test local beaches for bacteria that might make you sick.

Ocean Friendly Gardens: The Ocean Friendly Gardens program (OFG) sees landscapes and streets as solutions to water pollution – and more. Turn your yard into an Ocean Friendly Garden by following our simple program!

Ocean Friendly Restaurant: Plastic pollution is suffocating our ocean and the many animals that call it home. Researchers estimate there are now over 5.25 trillion pieces of plastic in the ocean with the number continuing to grow every day. We need to stop the problem at its source! The Surfrider Foundation’s Ocean Friendly Restaurants program does just that. One restaurant, one customer at a time, increases awareness, drives change in behavior and ultimately creates scalable impact to reduce our plastic (and water!) footprint.

Beach Cleanups & Dune Restoration: Nobody likes to see trash on the beach and much of that litter ends up in the ocean polluting the seas and harming marine life. Our dune restoration program feeds and protects our beaches while protecting upland communities from storms and erosion.
